Team Walnut Avenue; Our Local Charity Partner

We have been working with Walnut Avenue Family & Women’s Center (Walnut Avenue) since day 1. We are proud to bring awareness to women and family health through this organization.

Walnut Avenue is a 501 (c) 3 public benefit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for women, children, and families in Santa Cruz County for over 80 years. Strengths-based, supportive programs in childcare, youth development, parenting, domestic violence awareness & prevention, and advocacy are our primary focus. Many of the families participating in Walnut Avenue programs are from under-served populations due to poverty, early pregnancy, homelessness and/or domestic violence. Walnut Avenue seeks to improve the economic, physical, and emotional well-being of all the families we serve. is well on our way to donate a total of over $100,000 to Walnut Avenue Family & Women’s Center by our 10th Annual year (2020).

If you would like to additionally fundraise for Walnut Avenue through, please choose to be on “Walnut Avenue Family and Women’s Center Team” when registering for Santa Cruz. If you have already registered for the race but would like to be added to this team, please email and we can assist you!

TEAM WALNUT AVENUE: Thank you so much for choosing to be on the Walnut Avenue She is Beautiful Team. Walnut Avenue Family & Women’s Center is a Santa Cruz non-profit organization that provides support and services so that women, children, and families will have the opportunities and skills to thrive. Walnut has been the Santa Cruz beneficiary since the very first race 9 years ago! She is Beautiful, in addition to being a race, is a fundraiser, and you are joining an elite group of Walnut Avenue supporters who are committed to requesting sponsors for their run in exchange for donations. You will walk and/or run in solidarity with the Executive Director of the organization as well as Board members, staff and program participants. Every dollar you raise (outside of your registration fees) goes directly to support Walnut Avenue programs and services. The individual fundraising goals are absolutely manageable; a staff member from WAFWC will contact you directly to encourage and support you on your journey to 5k, 10k or the stroller route. Happy running!! #Peace Begins At Home
All team members that raise $100 or more for Walnut Avenue will receive a special Walnut Avenue support tank top.
