Your race registration includes a beautiful coastal race course lined with over 50 inspirational signs, a women’s cut technical finisher’s shirt, custom goody bag, and access to our epic post race festival. This race’s feel good, positive energy is unlike any other.
We do offer a finisher’s medal and finisher’s jacket as part of our 2018 SIB Mileage Club – a year-long online club where each member selects and work towards completion of an annual mileage goal.  More information on our Mileage Club can be found here:



Our Santa Cruz race course runs along the coast and finishes oceanside with a post race festival on Lighthouse Point in Santa Cruz, CA.



Our Local Charity Partner

We have been working with Walnut Avenue Family and Women’s Center since day 1. We are proud to bring awareness to women and family health through this organization.

Walnut Avenue is a 501 (c) 3 public benefit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for women, children, and families in Santa Cruz County for over 80 years. Strengths-based, supportive programs in childcare, youth development, parenting, domestic violence awareness & prevention, and advocacy are our primary focus. Many of the families participating in Walnut Avenue programs are from under-served populations due to poverty, early pregnancy, homelessness and/or domestic violence. Walnut Avenue seeks to improve the economic, physical, and emotional well-being of all the families we serve. is well on our way to donate a total of over $100,000 to Walnut Avenue Family and Women’s Center by our 10th Annual year (2020).

Course Maps

Both the 5k and 10k races start together. The starting line is located at Bay Street and Centennial St. in Santa Cruz. As demonstrated below, they follow the same course until a little after 2 miles on Fair Avenue when the 5k participants go left on West Cliff Drive towards the finish line and the 10k participants go right towards Natural Bridges.

The 5k and the 10k have the same finish line located about 100 yards from the post race festival that takes place on the lawn in front of the Santa Cruz Surfing Museum.

Both the courses and the post race festival have gorgeous views of the Santa Cruz coastline.


Bib Pick Ups AND Bib Shipping Info

This year’s race bib is pretty fun- get excited!

Our Bib Shipping deadline has passed, so if you or your friend cannot make bib pick-up, we do have a convenience fee for race morning bib pick-up (see below). **Please note that YES, you can pick up friends bibs if they can’t make the pick ups below and don’t want to pay the race day fee.

When you come to pick up your bib, you will find it under it’s actually number not your first or last name. You can find what your bib number is  here.




Wine Tasting 5:00PM-7:00PM for those over 21 years old

Here you will pick up your bib, check out HOKA ONE ONE, fun photo ops, Dignity Health, Because Shoe Charms, Spindrift, and have the first look at the latest Merchandise.

Candy Claw nails will also be attending and will be available for Nail Art ** NOTE: this is super cool designs on your nail(s) not a manicure. So come with your nails painted and she will do the design you choose on top of your color.




Join us at Fleet Feet Aptos on the day before the race for sweet deals at Fleet Feet, fun photo ops, Dignity Health, Because Shoe Charms, Merchandise, mini mint ice cream cones, and more!


We highly recommend you choose one of our complimentary bib pick ups leading up to race day. Please note, if you or a friend cannot make one of our bib pick ups, and you don’t want your bib shipped, and you need to pick up your bib race morning, there is a $10 convenience fee. If you have not already selected this option with your registration, you can pay on race morning and your bib will be available for pickup near the start line between 6:30 and 7:30 a.m.

Race Day Timeline!

Shuttles will be running from 6:30am-8am from the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk parking lot to the startling line. We recommend getting to the starting area by 7:45am!

8:30AM- Race Start (both 5k and 10k)

Our Post-Race Festival takes place as soon as your finish! When you cross the finish line you will get your water, collect your awesome race shirt, and have fun in our Post-Race Festival.


Post- Race Festival is open for spectators at 8AM. The Post-Race Festival is full of amazing local vendors, yummy samples, and fun activities.The Post-Race Festival is located at the Lighthouse on West Cliff Drive- 701 West Cliff Drive, Santa Cruz


We are excited to bring some heat to the finish line this year. Save some energy for the last half mile of your race as you enter the HOKA ONE ONE Half Mile. The last 1/2 mile of both the 5k and 10k courses will be timed separately from your total race time. The women to run the fastest last half mile of the 5k and 10k will win a pair of HOKA ONE ONE shoes and $200 cash. * Please note the women also must be in the top 50 finishers ( so no, you can’t just walk the race and sprint the last 1/2 miles).

The Half Mile starts around the corner of Woodrow and West Cliff Drive and finishes about 100 yards from Lighthouse.

Race Morning- Where to park? Shuttles? Where's the Start Line?

Parking and Shuttles

The Santa Cruz Boardwalk is offering 50% off parking for their main parking lot ( you must get parking coupon at packet pick ups or at the race in order to get the discount). We offer shuttle busses from this lot (see map below) to the start line. If you would like to jog or walk to get a warm up in, it’s about a mile from this parking lot to the start line from this lot.


If you choose to take the shuttles, they will be running from 6:30am-8am. We advise you to be in line for the shuttles by 7am to make sure you get to the start line with plenty of time.


There is a shuttle pick up after the race back to the main Boardwalk parking lot at Pelton Avenue and National (see map below). The shuttles run from 9:30am-11:30am after the race. You could also walk or jog back to you car. It’s about 1.25 miles from the finish festival back to the Main Lot.

Other parking is available around the area, but please be aware of our no parking and street closure signs along the course, as we would not want you to get your car towed.

         Parking and Shuttle Pick up before the race Start Line is on Bay Street near National St. Be sure to get to the starting area by 8am. Porto Potties will be available in starting area. See map below:

Optional Bag Check

Many of our participants have asked for the option of bag check and we are so excited to deliver this this year. Bag Check means a place to store extra items (keys, sweatshirt, change of clothes, etc.) safely while you are on course. You can check in at the start line and then pick up your items at the finish festival.

Race Location was founded in Santa Cruz, CA seven years ago and we feel so lucky to run along it’s beautiful coast each year. The race course runs along the coastline and finishes at Lighthouse Point. Our finish festival is where you get your super cute womens cut race shirt and can visit with our 25+ vendors. Photo booths, ocean side yoga, food trucks and more!

We are proud to offer complimentary race photos for our participants.

Your race photos will be available HERE within 72 hours of the event. To ensure our photographers can identify you, please be sure to keep your bib number visible throughout the entire race. You best bet is to pin it to your chest or stomach with 4 safety pins (one on each corner).
