Where to Stay!

The Wayfarer Santa BarbaraJust blocks from the 5k and 10k start line and event finish line, the wharf, beach, AND downtown Santa Barbara’s famous State Street.

The discounted rate for the group block is $209 for king rooms, $199 for queen and $69 per bed for the shared rooms to a total of $345 for the whole shared room Virtual Tour Here

 

 

Hyatt Santa Barbara

This hotel is 2 blocks from the start line and on the actual race course. It’s location right across the street from the beach is also a major plus;) They are offering a She.is.beautiful Hotel block is for September 21st and September 22nd for $319 per room per night at Hyatt Centric. Complimentary Wi-Fi and access to fitness center.

Bib Pick-Up and Shipping Information

This year’s race bib is pretty fun- get excited!

There are 4 ways to get your bib:

  • You can have your BIB SHIPPED to you for $10 and you will receive it the week before the race (*Note: you will not receive your finisher shirt in this package, you will get it at the race)
  • You can pick it up at our COMPLIMENTARY BIB PICK UP the day before the race on Friday, September 21st at Santa Barbara Running between 12:00PM-6:30PM.
  • A FRIEND can pick up your bib at our complimentary pick up mentioned above.
  • If you cannot come to pick up your bib in person the day before the race and you don’t want your bib shipped to you, you can pay the convenience fee of $10 to pick up your bib race morning.

**Please note that YES, you can pick up a friend’s bib if they can’t make the pick up below and don’t want to pay the race day fee.

Training Group AND Training Guide

We are excited to have a few options to help you to feel supported on your journey to the start line of She.is.beautiful Santa Barbara.

We have an online Training Plan that SIB’s Coach Katie has created for 3 different levels of fitness that is NOW AVAILABLE below. If you live in Santa Barbara we recommend the in-person training group with Santa Barbara Running Company (learn more below).

The She.is.beautiful 8 Week Training Plan by SIB Community Leader and Coach Katie, is 8 weeks long and has 3 levels based on your experience and fitness. You will find the level that works best for you and your lifestyle. This plan officially starts on Monday, July 31st but feel free to check out the survey below (in Step 1) to see what level plan you should choose! All 3 Training Plans are available for download below.

Step 2: With your results from the questionnaire, select the plan below that fits your level. We encourage you to post your journey on our She.is.beautiful Santa Barbara Event page or on your other social channels using @runsheisbeautiful #runsheisbeautiful
Step 3: Make sure you have running shoes that are in good condition. Whether you are running or walking or a combination of both, it’s important to have proper shoes to lessen chance of injury and impact on joints. We love HOKA ONE ONE and encourage you to go to your local running store to get fitted by their teams. Happy feet, happy body, happy heart. ( We really love HOKA ONE ONE’s new Clifton 5!)

This program is open to all levels of runners (especially first timers), ladies looking to improve their time, and those seeking a fun training group.

Whether you want to run your very first race or improve your speed, we have a spot just for you to learn and improve! Join us for eight weeks of individualized training and supervised running sessions with knowledgeable coaches that will be there for you every step of the way!

With your Training Group Registration, you get:

  • Two coached running workouts/week with highly experienced coaches
  • Additional workouts from running coaches (includes hip/core strengthening tips) that participants can do on their own
  • Weekly tips on everything from hydration, running nutrition, and running injury prevention, recovery, and more

Race Day Parking

Where to park on race day?

There are some great options to park in the area for free on side streets. If you are looking to park close to the Start and Finish line, there are also a few paid parking options including  two parking lots at Garden St. and E. Cabrillo Blvd.

When was the last time you got a high five from a marshmallow?! Save some energy for the last half mile of your race as you enter the HOKA ONE ONE Half Mile. This is a fun way to know the finish line is near:)

The last 1/2 mile of both the 5k and 10k courses will be timed separately from your total race time. The women to run the fastest last half mile of the 5k and 10k will win a pair of HOKA ONE ONE shoes and $200 cash. * Please note the women also must be in the top 50 finishers ( so no, you can’t just walk the race and sprint the last 1/2 miles).
